or forms, are sequentially, choreographed techniques aimed at defeating multiple
attackers advancing from different directions. This was the traditional manner
in which martial arts skills were transmitted from master to student for years.
It is thought that warriors would pass on successful battlefield defense in
this way as well. In this seminar, Master Cook will teach a selected taekwondo
poom-se in detail, demonstrate its practical combat application, and discuss
its underlying philosophy. Open to intermediate and advanced students.
Effective skills in self-defense, poom-se and sparring all depend on strong basic technique. Master Cook will begin by teaching and refining the four basic motions, and continue this workshop by perfecting the individual stances, blocks, kicks and strikes that represent the fundamentals of the taekwondo arsenal. Ki Development (internal energy) exercises are an important component of this program.
